Hello Readers! I think you were brave enough to read this one

This is all about me ranting about one of my favorite yet surreal animation studios.
From as long as I can remember, we have grown up watching Disney Princesses live their best lives and in the process, make us believe in fairy tales with ‘happily ever after’. Please be patient with me as I try to burst that bubble as gently as possible.
So, without further ado, let's get into it.
1. Beauty standards crushing young women

Your waist doesn’t have to be like shaped like an hour glass with the perfectly shaped thin eyebrows, tinge of ‘no makeup’ look, rosy lips and impossibly long hair like Rapunzel. To top that all of, you can’t wear sea shells as a bra, Ariel.
It doesn’t work that way. It’s neither comfortable nor would your mom allow this.
2. You can talk to animals

If this was true, I could go on and on talking to a puppy and live in my utopian world. We would be more socially awkward than we already are. This is one of the most painful things I had to experience.
3. Wind and water won’t ruin your hair

Meanwhile, princesses have the perfect silky hair getting washed by the water or getting blown by the wind. It doesn’t look as great as they portray it to be. Like hey Disney, what products are the princesses using for their hair? We would love to know.
4. Trusting a stranger with a true love kiss

The most disturbing fact, we are teaching young children is that it’s okay for a stranger to touch you and wake you up from your unconsciousness without any consent or other examples where they showcase its wrong to trust unknown people unless its a handsome prince.
I think this would play a huge psychological effect on our minds even if we don’t talk about it that often. Besides, the portrayal of love in these movies is equivalent to concept of arranged marriages. How would you know a person for a couple of hours and fall in love with them? Come on, Disney.
5. Your prince charming will come and find you
Don't be a damsel in distress, take charge of your own life.
Moreover, if your expectations regarding your significant other are way too high, we can collectively blame Disney. Boys won’t always make the first move or propose to you by making grand gestures like taking you to a ball dance. Don’t wait for the other person to approach you. Go get them!
Anyway, who am I to give you advice for this? Moving on to the next point...
6. You end up with your soulmate in a palace

Honestly, who wants this? Why aren't happy endings something with land of chocolate chip cookies and enjoying a holiday with your friends? The problem is the movie ends with the princesses living with the prince. No one says what happens after that. They paint the picture so rosy that a person would never understand the hardships of a true relationship.
7. People close to you will always support you and give you the best advice.
Even though they are the closest people in our lives, sometimes they can go wrong. Nobody is perfect, right? Sometimes, you get stabbed in your back. But, they won't show that.
Even though some of these movies are age old classics and Disney has improved in some areas, these tales have left a mark on our minds in ways that you can’t possibly tell. Besides, now you know the secret! Spread the word and educate others so that we can enjoy animated movies, but also mellow down these effects and stay happy.
